The founder’s name is Sara Khong. She writes cookbooks and teaches Malaysian cuisine at her cooking school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, New Malaysian Kitchen.

She also helps food brands create content: develop recipes, style and shoot food, make cooking videos, and write articles.

Food, plants, people, culture, and creating new things are her passion. She styled and photographed the food on this website, drew this illustration for one of her cookbooks, and grew food in her tropical edible garden.

To expand her horizon in the culinary arts, she dines at restaurants, discovers local street food, and attends local cooking classes whenever she travels. However, the best places she learned cooking are at home and with people from the generation before her.

Her mission is to record and improve traditional recipes passed down from family and friends. She cooks with her mother and interview hawkers to make healthier versions of Malaysian street food at home.
