Ang Mo Kio 628 Market

#1 – Sumo Big Prawn Noodle

Introduction: Three crayfish were sliced into halves, and generous portions of clams were added to Crayfish Bee Hoon Soup ($13). Somehow, the flavor of the soup lent itself to better for other people than the lobster soup. My parents agreed that the crayfish meat was cooked perfectly and was sweet and tender. Whether it was yellow noodles or bee hoon, the entire dish was enjoyed.

#2 – Ho Bee Roasted Food

Introduction: For $3.50, you get a slab of duck drizzled with sauce. The chilli has so much umami in it. The duck along with the herbs makes the whole dish so flavourful.

A hidden gem in AMK! Queue can be quite long even during dinner! Musttttt take the chilli. However, don’t order the whole duck for CNY. We tried once during CNY (dabaoed home) and it wasn’t that nice. Probably due to mass production. (HY Png from Burple)

#7 – Song Heng Fishball Minced Meat Noodle

Introduction: What I really like about this is that the broth isn’t oily at all and though it looks really clear and plain, it’s actually quite flavorsome without being overly salty. No MSG is used so I can finish the soup without worries. The fishballs are big and springy that I’m sure if I throw one on the table, it’d bounce back up, lol. The fish cakes are delicious too as they have been fried to a golden brown on the outside before slicing. The pork slices are a tad too tough though because they are of leaner cuts. • Dry Fishball Noodles (Price $3)

#8 – 628 Soya Sauce Chicken

Introduction: Blk 628 AMK food market is one of my most frequent hawker centres, it serves some very delicious food there. So this chicken noodle stall is opened not long ago, and judging from the aesthetic appearance of the stall, I’ve decided to gave it a go.

The chicken was super succulent and juicy, tender as well, with the fatty skin, I love it😍😍 Inside the plate, there’s peanuts as well and also some chye sim to balance the meal. Noodles were QQ and springy. Then there’s also a bowl of chicken bone soup, the broth is full of the chicken flavor. Never tried the Michelin starred Hawker Chan HK soya sauce chicken noodle, so not sure how this compared to that one though.

Overall, it was a super good meal, I would recommend you to try this stall if you’re happened to stop by in this food centre. Oh ya, top up $1.50 for chicken drumstick noodle, and they serve roasted pork noodle as well. (Soo Weisong from Burple)
