#3 – Hai Xian Zhi Jia
Introduction: May look like an ordinary fish soup ($4), but I can guarantee you that this is better than most fish soups out there. The soup is not only flavourful from the fish bones and bittergourd, but it gets its umami flavours from the fried garlic that is added in the soup. The fish slices are really super fresh, and has a good bite. Definitely worth a trip down for this. (Jason Ng from Burple)

Customers can choose either the $2.50 small menu item or the $3.00 large menu item; it is fried kway teow with fish cakes and chicken gizzards, miso and teriyaki-flavored fries, kimchi, and barbecue salmon. #7 – Mami Midah Briyani
Introduction: We got in the line at lunchtime for the Indian-Muslim version of veg biryani, which was delivered to us in Eunous. The queue moved slowly, and everyone in line gave everyone their full attention. As soon as we received our food, we waited for every other dish to be delivered. We were served all of our meals separately. The plates of chicken briyani and mutton briyani looked the same because the meat was hidden underneath the rice. The piece of mutton was quite big and the piece of chicken was even bigger. The lean mutton was delicious but not as tender as we expected it to be. The chicken was well marinated and the meat was moist and tasty. The rice was aromatic and did not feel oily or heavy.
Menu Items:
- Chicken Briyani (Price $7)
- Lamb Shank Briyani (Price $16)

#8 – Handmade Noodles
Introduction: Each dumpling included an artificial filling that was too thick and did not mix well with the meat. There were no chestnuts or shrimps in the dumplings. Handmade noodles were smooth, comfortable and tasty. The soup was aromatic, warm and had a mild anchovy flavor. In conclusion, the food here was delicious and economical.
Menu Items:
- Handmade Noodle (Chicken/Pork) (Price $3.50)
- Beef Brisket Ban Mian (Price $6)
- Guo Tie (Price $6 for 10 pieces)

#9 – Keng Huat Cold & Hot Dessert
Introduction: The Cheng Tng was refreshingly delicious, not “watered down” and not too herbal-tasting. I pressed a little further and determined that it was akin to the concepts of barley, fungus, longan, sago, and sweet potato slices. While there were fairly small amounts of these ingredients overall, it seemed as if any one of these vegetables were the primary element of the soup.
Menu Items:
- Cheng Tng (Price $1.70)
- Tadpole Ice Longan (Price $2.70)
- Ice Jelly Cocktail (Price $1.70)
- Bing Bing Mango Pudding (Price $2.70)

#10 – Whampoa Soya Bean
Introduction: We tend not to anticipate good customer service at hawker stalls, but this stall is run by his daughter, a young woman born in communist China, who is the most diligent and quick-working hawker I’ve ever met. No matter how busy her hands may be, she always smiles with a smile!
Menu Items:

- Grass Jelly (Price $1.30 for Small, $1.50 for Large)
