#3 – Longlae Thai

Introduction:

Neighborhood gem.. jam-packed on a Friday night. Highlights were the prawn pad thai and taro sticky rice ice cream. Also enjoyed the chicken green curry and beef salad. Red duck curry and basil chicken stir fry were average. Portions on the smaller side so the bill racked up. Overall enjoyed the meal. From Zomato

#4 – The King & I Thai Cuisine

Introduction:

Sawasdee and Welcome to “The King and I” Thai restaurant.

Their first restaurant opened in 1991, just a few doors down from where they are now located. Back then in early 90’s London, they were only the 8th Thai restaurant to open up when Thai food was still new in may areas. Their mother was a true entrepreneur and this was a trial run to see how they would fare as a family run business. Would people appreciate the fresh ingredients and produce with an authentic Thai taste? Would their Thai restaurant develop a local customer base?

Thirty years on they are delighted to say that the answer has been a resounding “Yes”. They are still here, lucky enough to welcome their wonderful customers into their restaurant; the new curious ones and the many who have been with them from the very beginning. With the wonderful support of the local community and surrounding areas, the
“King and I” is the family run restaurant in Beckenham that serves truly authentic Thai food in a cosy living room type environment.

As they move into their fourth decade, there comes a time for change. Tony has now taken over the helm of running the restaurant from Mum who is finally hanging up her apron(although she is still known to randomly wander in and check how they are doing).

They thank you for your loyalty over the last three decades and look forward to serving you the freshest food with their signature authentic Thai taste. When the beautiful old post office building in Leederville was up for sale, the family knew they had to have it and put in a lot of time and effort to open their second branch in November 2019.
