#2 – Bedok Reservoir Park
Introduction:
Located in the north of Bedok New Town, Bedok Reservoir Park is popular amongst joggers and water sports enthusiasts in the eastern part of Singapore. A converted sand quarry, the park surrounds the 88-hectare Bedok Reservoir, making it a great place for water activities.
Water sports enthusiasts and adrenaline junkies regularly gather at the park to dragon boat, kayak and wakeboard while anglers cast their rods in hopes of hooking their next big catch. Fitness enthusiasts, schools, and organizations conduct regular runs at the park’s 4.3 km track. Alternatively, sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery from the benches that are conveniently placed throughout the park. Visitors can experience a refreshing sense of tranquility at the floating deck, situated near the Activity Lawn event site, which offers a spectacular view of the reservoir.
With more than 14,000 wetland plants added along the reservoir as part of the Active, Beautiful, and Clean (ABC) Waters Programme, Bedok Reservoir Park features a diverse mix of flora and fauna. A great sanctuary for bird watching, nature lovers can spot swallows playing by the water, little herons wading along the banks of the reservoir, and kingfishers diving for their lunch.

#3 – Tampines Chinese Temple
Introduction:
Tampines Chinese Temple was officially opened in 1992 as a united temple that houses 13 constituent temples, mostly from the old Tampines area, which include Loyang Tian Gong Tan, Fu An Dian, Hou Chi Ting, Shun Xing Gu Miao, Ji Xing Ting, Ji Yang Tang, Ci Ling Gong, Xin Ba Da Bo Gong (Tua Pek Kong), Loyang Da Bo Gong (Tua Pek Kong), Han Yang Da Bo Gong (Tua Pek Kong), Tampines 9th Milestone Tian Gong Tan, Tampines 9th Milestone Da Bo Gong (Tua Pek Kong) and Di Wan Da Bo Gong (Tua Pek Kong).
Tampines Chinese Temple was built with an open layout with common doors for all constituent temples. Eight shrines were erected to worship the original temples’ main deities.

Tampines Changkat Butterfly Garden is a fantastic addition to the community, especially for residents who appreciate butterflies and are keen to learn more about them. It also helps to educate residents about biodiversity. In fact, this garden has just won the Environment and Biodiversity Award (Organisations) in the recently-held Community In Bloom Awards 2012.
Heartiest congratulations to Suzana and her friends, as well as Tampines Changkat Town Council, for their achievement! The Tampines Changkat Butterfly Garden is open to the public. The best times to visit the garden are in the early morning and late afternoon. If you do pay our ‘colourful friends’ a visit, please remember to take nothing but photographs and leave nothing but footprints!
