3. SSVP SHOP Thrift Shop

About:

In 2017, SSVP received a significant bequest from the estate of an anonymous donor. With this the Society acquired a building at 501 Geylang Road, renovated it and set up SSVP Shop, a social enterprise project, on the ground floor. thrift shop charity shop singapore

The shop sells mainly pre-loved items, including clothing, household items, accessories and novelties, at very affordable prices. Its day-to-day operations (from Tuesday to Sunday) are managed by a pool of volunteers along with a full-time staff supervisor. A Shop Committee, comprising Vincentians, oversees the overall management.

The shop is closed on Mondays and public holidays. On Sundays, the operations of the shop are helmed by members of SSVP Conferences on a rotational basis.

As a Charity Shop or Thrift Shop, the items on sale at the shop are mainly from collection drives done by Vincentians at various Catholic churches. People also donate valuable items after making an appointment with the shop management. Every item you donate and what you spend at the shop will go towards helping the poor.

If you have pre-loved items that are new or in good saleable condition, they will be happy to receive your donation(s). They generally accept:

  1. apparel items for men, women and children (not accepting till further notice)
  2. fashion accessories (handbags, sunglasses, watches, jewellery, etc)
