#2 – The Daily Scoop

Introduction:

It all began in 2004 at Sunset Way, a tree-lined suburban neighbourhood. Discovering their café for the 1st time has been likened to a ‘treasure find’ by ice cream lovers.

It was in this cosy little cafe that they experimented, concocted and shared with curious first-time customers their love for ice cream.

They persevered through an uncertain beginning with an ambition to share honest-to-goodness ice cream with dessert connoisseurs.

Encouraged by their customers’ stamp of approval, they boldly ventured into vibrant, cosmopolitan Holland Village, with their 2nd café opening in 2009.

In a quest to spread more ice cream joy, they headed North in 2013, opening their 3rd outlet in Sembawang-Yishun.

In 2015 they opened their 4th outlet in SOTA. They enjoyed 5 happy years scooping ice cream for the students and tourists in the vicinity, but made the decision to move away from the city belt to the heartlands.

In November 2020, they opened a small cafe at Bedok Reservoir, finally fulling the wishes of many their East-side fans to have an outlet closer to them. They can’t be happier seeing many a familiar face dropping in for their fave treat.

#3 – Kind Kones

Introduction:

In 2017… they started out by experimenting with vegan ice cream recipes in a no-frill family home kitchen. Their goal was to develop a nice cream that was better-for-you (and the planet!) than the conventional options available… and to prove that the vegan label or a healthier option does not mean you have to compromise on taste.

Their ice creams are now handcrafted in small batches (in a fancier kitchen!) from all-natural ingredients. Every flavour is free from dairy, soy, refined sugar, egg, preservative, and any artificial additives. The support for their product has been tremendous and we hope to be able to reach more people.

Ultimately, they strive to create the kind of company that’s feel good and fun to support, work for, and partner with. They believe in building a more conscious community through their ice cream.

#7 – The Humble Scoop

Introduction:

The reason they decided to open The Humble Scoop stemmed from a humble wish to make people happy with the food that they created. “But why ice cream though?” many friends, family and customers have asked.

Simply because ice cream makes people happy. People have ice creams when they are happy, when they are celebrating; but they also eat it when they need something to cheer them up and to make themselves feel better after a tough day. No one eats ice cream and feels sad, that’s why they decided finally settled on an ice cream shop.

Henceforth, the name The Humble Scoop followed, to serve as a constant reminder of their initial intention, and to put their customers first.

They make locally inspired ice cream as they wanted to bring back memories of growing up in Singapore –a simpler, happier time -to indulge their inner child, and hopefully to pass on the flavor memories to the younger crowd.
