Best Farms in Wellington

#1 – Bluebank Blueberry & Emu Farm

Introduction:

They began to farm emus in 1996. We started off with a few pairs then ended up with a couple of hundred. They sold meat in their shop and it was just about to be introduced into a local supermarket as a trial. Unfortunately, the government changed the processing regulations and the small killing and processing plant they were using was unable to afford the cost of upgrading to the new standards so they had nowhere to send their birds anymore.

This charming cottage is the perfect escape to unwind and relax in a country garden setting. Take your time wandering the beautiful gardens, say hello to the chirpy chickens, and unwind in this secluded spot with a stunning vista of undisturbed rolling green hills.
