#2 – Koka Wanton Mee

Introduction:

Melding together a glorious hodgepodge of condiments—think, pork lard, soy, sesame oil and a piquant chilli sauce—the fragrance that erupts from this modest plate of noodles is just heavenly. You’d have to prepare to wait a pretty long time to be served but for many, their wanton mee is well worth the wait. Barbecued char siew with wanton noodles are their signatures, but feel free to add on an additional spoonful of deep-fried pork lard and chilli to further enrich its flavour.

  • Wanton Mee (Price $4/ $5/ $6)

#3 – Lao Huang Hakka Niang Tou Fu

Introduction:

Long queue at this North Bridge Road Hawker Center stall, albeit somewhat managed by a queue number system. Pick your favorite Yong Tau Fu, hand it over to the assistant and tell them the carb you want, dry or soup. Then find a place to sit and watch for your queue number. The taupok (which soaks up the soup) is a good option to have as well!

Menu Items:

  • Traditional Yong Tau Fu (Price $0.80/ piece)
  • Fish Meat Yong Tau Fu (Price $0.70/ piece)
  • Fish Ball (Price $0.30/ piece)

Introduction:

Chicago Nasi Lemak serve the green Pandan rice with a selection of assorted sides. I always choose the fried chicken and the egg with vegies topped with their amazing chicken curry. #5 – Ah Lock Curry Rice

Introduction:

The popular Lock Curry Rice stall attracts food fans at the annual foodpark, judging by the number of online reviews and the location of the line. See the spread in front of you, and you’ll be instantly excited to order and eat it. The sweetness from the stewed cabbage helped to cut through the richness of the char siew and pork chops.

Menu Items:

  • Curry Rice (Price from $3.20)

#6 – Hoe Hokkien Mee

Introduction:

Aside from having a higher proportion of thick bee hoon (as opposed to yellow noodles in other places), there were also slices of pork belly, in addition to your typical prawns, eggs, and squids. To be me, the squid can definitely be removed as they were tasteless! While good on its own, we do enjoy the chili as it added an addictive layer of contrasting sourness and spiciness that made every spoonful into the mouth, a heavenly experience.

Menu Items:

  • Hokkien Mee (Price $4/ $5/ $8)

Location: 861 North Bridge Rd, #01-93, Singapore 198783
