#1 – Ying Yi Kway Chap Braised Duck

Introduction: The braising sauce includes star anise, orange peel, garlic, dang gui, galangal, and more. It has a very subtle flavor and is not too thick at all. The intestines have been braise until they are velvety and their delicious flavors satisfy your taste buds. The kway is very smooth and garlic oil is deposited. I particularly requested for the preserved vegetables which has an excellent texture for every bite.

Menu Items:

  • Kway Chap
  • Braised Duck Rice
  • Braised Duck Meat
  • Yam Rice
  • Braised Duck Noodle

#2 – Ann Hoo Teochew Porridge

Introduction:I’d say this is really a good place for your Teochew porridge craving. Apart from its cheap price, it doesnt compromise on the taste. Minced meat is cooked just nice, not too dry and savoury. Also should order their fish cake which I guess is homemade. (Yu Cheng from Burple)

#4 – Zhou Kee Hainanese Chicken & Roasted Rice

Introduction: Service was conducted in an extremely rude manner. We nicely ordered for 2 pack of chicken drumsticks rice, the stall auntie just raised her voice, and told us there’s no more drumsticks. In fact, there’s were at least 4-6 whole chickens hanging there. She told us if everyone order drumsticks, how is she going to sell half and whole chickens to people who wants it. Even though we understand her intentions, she could have explained to us nicely. Instead of informing us, she showed annoyance and replied us rudely. As customers, we definitely do not deserve such treatment just to buy a pack of rice. Food isn’t that fantastic as well, if you’re thinking buying chicken rice from this market, you could get it from another chiken rice store located at the inner side of this market. They have better chicken rice, and are so friendly! (Jamine Chua from Google Reviews)

Menu Items:

  • Steam Chicken (Price $22)
  • Roasted Chicken Rice Set (Price $4.50)
  • Roasted Pork Rice (Price $3)
  • Char Siew Rice (Price $3)

#5 – Song Kee Fish Ball Noodle

Introduction: The star of the fish dumpling has to be only that part of the dumpling that contains fish. The skin of the fish dumpling is slightly thicker than the other. The pastry-wrapped fish string put aside with fish balls, fish paste, and meat balls was pretty unworthy of our expectations. The chilli was flexible enough to pair with rice noodles well.

Menu Items:

  • Fishball Noodle Dry/Soup (Price $5/$7/$9)
  • Fishball Soup (Price $6/$9)
  • Mixed Soup (Price $6/$9)
